Greetings,

I have had the itch for a while now, and I believe I am reading to move into a balanced Dac/Amp combo.

I would like to keep my budget below 1k.

So far I have been thinking of using a NFB-6 to a NFB-17.32. What do you all think of this combo? Is there a better option out there within my price range? I would really like to have a 1/4 jack for non-balanced headphones.

In your opinion, what would be the best way to hook the dac up to my pc? I can do USB, RCA, or Optical?

You could always go for the NFB 10.32 to save space and money. It's fully balanced and has balanced and single-ended headphone outputs and tons of power. Audio-gd favors optical so that would be your best bet. Or a USB to optical transport would work just as well if not better.

I have not had the chance to listen to one but you can check out this thread for impressions on a wide range of headphones.
