I use a Razer Deathadder mouse in conjunction with the "control" side of an exactmat and the included wrist rest. I couldn't imagine using a conventional mouse without a wrist rest- without one, you're setting yourself up for some serious carpal tunnel. I've tried trackball mice but I've found the conventional mouse + wrist rest combo to be more comfortable.

There aren't good looking trackballs, so I'll stick with my MX518 for the time being.

I ordered a trackball the other day cause my mouse is causing my wrist and arm to hurt. Even tried getting a wrist support cushion, but still not helping. All the stores around here only had the trackballs with the ball in the middle of the mouse where the scroll wheel should be, and I wanted a thumb wheel, so had to order online.
