I'm looking at getting a new phone and don't want to always feel the need to use a portable amp/DAC.  Has anyone tried out the new Moto X to see if it's headphone output is any good?  Does anyone know if it is USB OTG compatible for headphone amps (like my Leckerton UHA760?)

Thanks!

I own the 2014 moto x. Sound from the headphone jack is pretty good. I find it to be very clear and pretty flat. I plugged my fiio e07k DAC amp in via USB otg and it instantly recognized it and plays music like a champ. Best portable rig i own. Sounds amazing with my re400's, tdk ba200's and Yamaha eph100's

I just got one and found it to be underwhelming. Extremely flat and seemed to be worse than the kids' moto E. I did try neutron which makes it a bit better but it still lacks power.
Also found Samba player which is free and does a decent job playing flac files from the NAS.

Must say I quite like the sound from the headphone jack. Quite neutral but definite audible hiss with sensitive iems. Sounds fantastic with Bluetooth headphones as well.

Hi,
any decent portable Dac/amp that actually works on MOTOX 2014 running Androïd 6.0 ?
I was on my way to purchase a second hand FIIO E07k but Fiio customer service has no idea whether it will work

What about the sound of the MOTOX 2014 ? audible hiss with a tuby sound. Everything sounds pretty far away. For what's left, it's not bad, weak amping with distortions when pushed. quite neutral and the timbres are not too bad. Good marth with Hifiman RE-400.
