Most appropriate for me under $60

Hello!

If bass is your top propriety in sound, +1 for the Sonys... Probably the most bassy IEM I have seen. However, don't expect something as powerful as your full size. Usually, full size headphone will give you a fuller bass experience, a more fun sound. IEM will sound smaller.

Hope it helps!

Just to throw this out there, how about a smaller, more portable on ear to bring to school? AKG K518 LE have very good bass, although I recommend doing the blue tack mod to give the bass a tighter sound and bring out the mids a little. My son has actually decided he prefers his K518s (we both have a pair) to his 580s because the K518s handle vocals better.

I don't use IEMs that often, and the ones that I do are not bass heavy.

Pick from joker's reviews. He's probably got more experience with IEMs than anyone else on this forum: http://www.head-fi.org/t/478568/multi-iem-review-300-iems-compared-jh-audio-jh13-pro-added-10-17-13-p-786

In addition to joker's reviews, you can also read his buyer's guide:

He has a category for basshead iems, so it may give you some ideas on what to buy.

I'd stick to joker's and ClieOS's reviews (here is ClieOSs blog). Sometimes, the new popular items on head-fi are hyped FOTM. Don't know if that is true for those IEMs, but there are lots of good IEMs with good bass listed in joker's and ClieOS's lists.

+1! I would like to emphasis that new gears are usually over hyped!
