Hi, building a Millet starving student amp. Using two irf510 MOSFETs. One reads 48v, 17v, 14v, which I think is normal. However, the other MOSFET reads 48v for all 3 pins. Is it fried?
Cheers.

You should be able to measure across the source and drain using the continuity function on a DMM. With no voltage or charge on the gate it should be an open circuit. If you charge the gate, even using the DMM, the source to drain reistances should be a virtual short. That is one way to tell.

Look at the big brain on Brad. Sorry just had to do it.

I think so. You can remove the charge on the gate by grounding it ( with nothing plugged into it or course ). That will open the gate back up create an open circuit between the drain and source.

After its drained measure the voltage between the drain and source. It should be zero and the resistance very high as in megaohms.
