I managed to dig up some information on the net for the wired headphones Philips HP1500.

One thing though according to the specifications, the philips don't use opitical cables. You pretty much have the same thing as the pioneer. I thought it did use opitical cables but apparently you have the same thing as the pioneer.

Here are the specifications for the wired headphone atleast.

• Type Dynamic
• Acoustic system Semi - Open Front and
Open Back
• Frequency range 5 - 40 000 Hz
• Speaker type Mylar dome
• Magnet circuit Neodymium N40 grade
• Voice coil Copper Cladded Aluminium
Wire (CCAW)
• Speaker size 50 mm
• Frequency range 5 - 40 000 Hz
• Impedance speaker
element 32 Ohm
• Sensitivity 106 dB
• Maximum Power
Input 1 500 mW
• Jack 3.5 - 6.3 mm stereo adapter
• Finishing of
connector 24 k gold plated
• Length of cord 4 m
• Type of cord LC-OFC
• Cord Connection Single sided
• Cabinet material ABS
• Cabinet colour silver
• Graphics colour titanium

See how it compares with the pioneer wireless headphone specifications.

It would be interesting if the wireless pioneer 'phones could even compete with the philips wired headphone using DH.

hint: according to the an expert the Pioneer's amp has enough power to power HD600. This maybe one key difference between the two systems.
