i think its fair to say that those stick out quite a bit because of the tips. if the tips were standard single flange tips fully inserted they would stick out just about or possibly less than the shures.. but very very good stuff mate. i can see my gf wearing them over the ear now thanks to those pictures

would u guys recommend monster turbines being played straight from an ipod touch 3rd gen for rap music?

I disagree with the OP that the Turbines do guitars well. These are decent HipHop IEMS. Barely passable for rock. Acoustic and non-distorted electric guitars are okay. They really do have nice bass. If you're going to be doing rock, overdriven guitars...PortaPro's kick the Turbine's butt.
