Are these the Pulse Tube Store Adapters you’re using? I’d like to make sure before ordering!

Those are the ones. If you use these in Liquid Platinum, be prepared to leave them in. They are a b#t#h to extract from LP. Then again, when you hear how good various 12AU7 / ECC82 tubes sound in LP, the PTS adapters will not be going anywhere!

Thank you for confirming! I promise not to curse your name when the day comes when I need to remove them!

... small digression: I see in your 'signature' that you have Audeze LCD-X. What year? Mine are 2016 with the 'old style' headband.

They are the 2021 version. What is the difference with the headband? Tried looking it up; do the earlier versions come with a cushion? And the later a suspension strap?

In your last pic that your volume was @ 1:00 - do the RFT ECC82 tubes tame the power some?

Here is my 2016 LCD-X in a different setup:

The ECC82 tubes have 20x gain versus the 32x gain for 6922-type tubes. Also the output from the DAC is the 'standard' 4 volts via XLR 'outs'.

Here is another photograph ....EDE6F951-D1BB-4001-A949-285FD3DB21AB.jpeg Between the PTS adapters, the taller rubber feet that I installed, and the silver cylindrical feet at the bottom, Liquid Platinum is extremely well ventilated. The amplifier body gets only mildly warm, even after a couple of hours of use.
Are you willing to share which rubber feet and metal cylindrical feet you're using there? I wouldn't mine putting my LP on the pedestal it deserves...

@DrDougieB, the taller rubber feet are from Western Supply Warehouse (in Long Beach, California). WSW offers the rubber feet in various sizes. The cylindrical feet are from Ebay; also try Aliexpress.

Going to list my LP for sale soon... Too many amps, and not enough space :grimacing:
If anyone on this thread is interested - send a PM with a reasonable offer

Well, listening to my LP today and for no reason it rebooted itself and when complete it started smoking. Shutdown, unplugged. Waited a while. Plugged it back in, it boots as normal but no output cept when cranked all the way, can slightly hear the music.

Smoke came from the right vent on top in the back. Looking through the vents near the white chips.

Hi All - I'm trying to keep up, but certainly am failing.

Per the thread, I picked up the 12AX7 to ECC88 adapters from Pulse audio. I also picked up a pair of Mullard 12AX7's from Upscale Audio but grabbed ECC83 instead of ECC82. Now my LP won't play music, and the LED remains red. Forgive my ignorance here, but why might the ECC83 not work?

The ECC83 (European name for 12AX7) has gain of 100x. It is too 'hot' for LP. The stock tube, 6922, has gain of 32x. The ECC82 (or 12AU7) has gain of 20x. That is why I use ECC82s in LP: also, the slightly lower gain creates signal 'headroom' for the LP circuitry. Plus, more clockwise volume knob rotation is possible. EDIT: you can use those Pulse Tube Store adapters with ECC82s.
