I've been looking for a way to bypass the headphone out port on my macbook pro to get to an amp without spending too much on a DAC and found this on monoprice. While more known for their wires, has anyone tried using this digital to rca converter ?

I have the UCA202 and It is very good for its price, however it is only 16 bits (pretty much bang on ) and only up to 48Khz sampling ,if that is an issue (it is not for me) , also its crosstalk is pretty poor (relatively speaking, not that you would be able to tell the difference at all) but it has more in it for the price (digital ouput, headphone amp) , but it only takes USB input...but what do you want for $29 ? - oh and it has a usable ADC as well !

The Monoprice does not manage a 16 bit standard for noise, other than that I cannot comment.
