Headphones: LCD-GX and searching for MDR-Z1R or Eikons

So I find myself in need of EQing my sound without a PC.

I've done what research I can and here's what I think are the advantages of either.

Monolith 788 Pros:
Single piece solution
Finer level of detail in the EQ
I can effectively try recommended EQ settings from online
Larger knob for adjusting volume (this actually matters)

Schiit Stack Pros:
Much easier to adjust EQ sound while listening to it
One button EQ off
Smaller actual footprint

Can anyone else shed some light on the differences between these setups? Pros or Cons each way? Or perhaps there's even another solution I missed at or around $500.
