Once upon a time, there was a government funded research in which the agenda was to find out how quickly ketchup floats back up to top of water after being injected into water.

There are many reasons why the deficit is so high. Some of them good, some not so good. I'll put this in the not so good category. Why can't private companies raise their own money to watch monkeys *****?

We may not understand why someone will study monkeys' reactions to "****" but primatologists often can demonstrate that ape and monkey behaviors give great insight into the behavior of their closest relatives, including men. I won't pass judgement without knowing more about the study.

the monkey study is from Duke University, so it is private, but the news release says it was 'supported' by the federal National Institute of Mental Health.

Bunnyears, the press release has a link to the journal site with a full pdf of the article.
