I currently own Bx5a deluxe's and the sbx10 sub. They sound great but I'd like to upgrade for the holidays. I'd be able to get the D2 version for 40$ after selling my current ones to a friend.

I was wondering if the bx8a's or some other option would be worth the cash while I'm at it, up to an approx ~$600 limit.

I know Bx8a's have a better low end but my Sbx10s has got that ground covered quite well. Are the mids and highs better on the bx8as than on the bx5a's that would justify buying it for twice the price?

Any other active monitor suggestions would be great as well! Thanks.

No, they are not. And dude, if you want much better than that at the same price, get the Samson Rubicon R6A or R8A with Ribbon tweeters. You'll be shocked with the sound of them, especially treble

With the R8A's the sub won't be needed at all. Again, in this case, mids and highs are not better from the R6A's to the R8A's. Just bass power.
