As the title says, I am looking to buy an amp for home & travel needs. I prefer a dark sound[ 650, LCD2].
I understand that the carbon needs to be plugged in, but I can live with it if the sound is much better than mojo.
Appreciate any advice.

At the risk of stating the obvious - LC is an analogue-input amplifier, whereas Mojo is a digital-input DAC-amp.
 
I only mention this because you did not mention what source device(s) you plan to use, in each scenario...

I don't think you'll want to travel with a Carbon. I know I won't travel with mine, I'd rather get something made to be portable like a mojo or just get a DAP with a good amp like a QP1R.
