any mods for the akg k271 (particularly for increasing the bass)?

Usual is replacing the stock pads with the velour ones and some people have reported improvements from using aftermarket cables.

Received my brand new AKG 271S yesterday, and I'm listening to them right now, off my Zero (default opamps), with an iRiver PCDP with optical out plugged into it. WOW! Great for black/death metal (think Opeth and In Flames), and they haven't even burned in. I wasn't expecting the bass I'm getting from them either; from the few posts I've read, I was expecting a rather lifeless low-end, but that's absolutely not the case.
