I'm getting an internal PCI sound card to cut down on the clutter of electronic components in my room which is getting out of hand!
I've gone for an EMU 0404 but realise I'm still going to have a jumble of wiring and adapters. There's only a single stereo pair of outputs, on 1/4 inch (6.35mm) mono jacks. However, I need to take 3 outputs from this: a pair of phons to my Stax energiser, another pair of phonos to my pre-amp, and a cable terminating in a 3.5mm stereo jack to my monitor (which has built in speakers).
This is going to be an almighty mess of cables, plugs and adapters. Can anyone think of an elegant solution to this? One idea I had was to butcher the breakout cable and solder directly onto the pins. Could this be done?
Any help appreciated, thanks.
