Hey. I just won an auction for a momentum cable thats well below the cost, but when i bid on it, i was under the (wrong) impression it would fit my HD558's.
How hard would it be to modify the cable to fit the HD558's? I have done some searching and see its possible to modify the headphones, by removing a piece of plastic inside the ear cup, but i really dont want to open the $150 headphones, if i can get away with more invasive modification on the $20 cable. Would really appreciate some tight-macro shots of both the momentum and HD5*8 locking 2.5mm jacks.(Dont actually have the 558's in hand yet, as i am waiting for them to be shipped from another ebay seller)
The most annoying aspect of this is the seller *also* sells the proper HD558 cable for the same buy-it-now price as the momentum cable... but he's unwilling to accommodate me by sending the proper one.
