You need to join the Head-Fi Grado fan club :)

I would imagine your questions about cups and drivers have probably been answered there already.

My two latest builds... SennGrado with G-cush pads on the left, and on the right an SR60e pretty much stock with Vivitar headband and L-cush pads.

Two of my fave phones.

Did you do any other mods to them?if not are you planning to?

Yeah hidden from view, the SenGrado inner ear cup has been putty tacked and felt lined to damp resonance and reflection.  The 60e has beed de-cheese cloth'd.

Both ear zonk pads have foam sheets to space out the earcups (the orange layer in the pic below)

I would say never mind the Magnum drivers and put Grado (L) cushions on instead of the quarter modded (S) cushions…you'll hear a huge difference!

I have these wood cups on my 80i's and they are very nice!

For some grado mods, I would recomend replacing the ear cups with some turbulent batch 009 cups (http://turbulentlabs.com/batch-009-cups/) and them buying some aluminium gimbals from this person on eaby (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Grado-Aluminum-Headphone-Gimbals-Pair-/322349101045?_trksid=p2385738.m2548.l4275) and replacing the headband with a turbulent one (http://turbulentlabs.com/grado-saddle-manta/) and now you have reference grados
