Any1 tried modding of comercially available amps?
Eg. The Creek, X-Cans.
Anyone tried doing it?

I own the X-CANS. Rolling the tubes is mandatory. I'll be replacing the op-amps in the future which should also improve things a bit.

tube-rolling: Trying different tube combinations to see which sounds best.

Tube rolling simply means exchanging the tubes. From all the tweaks/mods this is perhaps the easiest one. Simply pull the old tube and fix the new one in the socket.

I modded an MG Head (but then again, sooner or later, I modify most equipment). It was worth it, big time. Check the archives for my description.
