I have a lonely, unused Sophia Amp in my rack. (Moved on to ASL monoblocks for my monitors.) I've ran across some threads from other owners mentioning that they've used the stock speaker outputs with headphones.

1) Can someone point me to a thread on how to do this?
2) Would I have to pick the resistor value specifically for the headphones I use?
3) Does anyone make a 'cheap' adapter that connects to binding posts of an amp to a 3.5mm standard jack? I suppose the best one would be w/ pot so I could mod the resistor value.

Thanks.

You might get a better response if you ask this question in the DIY forum here. But I know it can be done, people often hook the K1000 up directly to binding posts.

It all depends which headphone you get.
An AKG K1000 can be hooked straight up to the amplifiers binding posts. Stax headphones can be hooked up through an transformer box (like the SRD-7). Other headphones may need some sort of adaptor...
