Anyone have experience with these '24k gold' CDs? They're no longer made and many of the are 'collectors items' now.

I just have one so far- R.E.M. "Murmur" and it sounds so good. I have heard others that I've borrowed from friends.

I don't know what they did, but I would say it even sounds better than any modern-day remaster.

I don't have any of their CDs but maybe I accumulated a few rips over the years :D

I use to buy their heavy vinyl pressings back in the day. Yes, they remaster stuff very well and were known to make great sounding albums.

I've got a few of them. You can still buy them on ebay, used and even unopened ones, for a price. Audio Fidelity makes some gold CDs but I don't know where they get the original tape to create their CDs. You can buy them at Elusive Disc and Acoustic Sounds.
