To keep it brief, I was looking at the MMX 300 for an upgrade from my Hyperx cloud 2's for gaming and music. But after doing some research I've seen a few people call the MMX 300 a DT 770 with a mic slapped on it. Is this true? I understand a standalone mic + real headphones is optimal, but I enjoy the simplicity of owning less gear. But if the MMX300 really is just a DT 770 with a mic then I'll probably pickup the 770's and a mic to save money, just need some advice.

Can we assume your gaming with a Windows PC and not a gaming console?
How are the headphones connected to the PC?
With the USB adapter or connected directly to the PC's audio jacks?

For music, I would suggest something more like the Takstar HF 580 planar headphones, with Sendyaudio AVIA ear pads.
I believe the MMX 300 is slightly more then a DT770, but can't remember how, at the monument.
