Mixing Passive and Active Studio Monitors for My PC

I have a Pair of Edifier S2000v by Phil Jones

very pleasing to my ears , as you can see from the review one of the speakers have a built in amp , which makes one is passive and the other is active 
 
the thing is i'm thinking of upgrading my simple system , and considering buying those tower speakers Onkyo

I really want to make use of both S2000V speakers , one of the speakers is passive so it can be connected to any amp/reciever without any problem , what shall i do for the other Speaker with the built in amp ?

Are you trying to use the Onkyo's as front speakers and the Edifers as sides? If so, does your receiver have pre outs? You could just connect the preouts to the Edifer and use them as normal.

all the receivers with pre amp outputs are labeled sub-woofer , but i want to use these speakers as side or front not subs , is there something i'm missing here ?

You're not getting preouts cheap. I have preouts on my Pioneer SC-1222-K, but I also paid $600 for it.
 
I would say it's not worth it, but it's up to you.

how about i use an active subwoofer like this Wharfedale Powercube SPC 8 Active Subwoofer
 
it has 2 line level outputs and 2 speaker level outputs 
 
my guess is line level = pre amp am i correct ?
 
and i guess the subwoofer can power up the onkyo with no problem correct me if am i wrong 
 
thing is , would the line level outputs and the speaker level outputs work at the same time i dont care if the act as 4 stereo speakers , but would they work ?

It doesn't quite work that way. It has only been the last couple of years that receivers started moving the preamp outs upmarket.  While you used to be able to get an Onkyo 5xx with preamp outs, now you have to go to the 8xx series. Yamaha did the same thing, and I am guessing most others. The only real option you have though is to move to passive speakers, or get a higher end receiver. Look to make sure it has full preamp outs. Perhaps look used if you can, then you can get a lower end receiver, and used it should be a good deal.
