Is it ok to mix lead solder with lead free solder? I want to do some soldering on a PCB that was soldered with lead free solder but all I have is lead solder.

I figured it would be fine but at the same I was wondering if mixing the two solders would produce a weaker joint because the new joint is essentially a new alloy.

Ooooo maybe you are concocting a new "Super Solder" that conducts electricity better than pure silver!!! WHOA!

Yes, it could produce a weaker joint. However, it would typically still be plenty strong enough, remembering that we aren't looking to create a mechanical structure out of solder, nothing with much stress on it should be held down by solder alone.
