I'm planning on purchasing a new pair of headphones for my computer.(HE-400s or AKG K712s) I will mainly be listening to music and gaming. I was wondering if I should invest in a DAC/Amp combo, or if the mixamp would sound as good as the dac/amp. I already have the mixamp, but would have no problem in buying a dac/amp if it would sound better.

As a side note, I plan on, if I buy the Dac/Amp, purchasing the Xonar DG and connecting it via optical to the Schiit Modi/Magni so I can use Dolby Headphone and get virtual surround sound.
