mint voltage feedback?

for some reason after i plugged in my iriver ihp-120 into my amp, while it was working fine before, now the left channel is completely screwed on my iriver.

the left channel is almost non existant. while the right channel is still fine.

is there any way of testing the amp to make sure its not sending voltage back the other way?

multimeter?

is it even possible for the amp to send voltage backwards? if so how can this be remedied??

The only way I can think of for this to happen is if you shorted a power supply connection to the input path.

You could also inspect the line out/headphone jack on the iRiver for physical damage. Small portables usually have PCB mounted jacks that can break away from their connections under stress. Just one more area to consider.
