Hi,

I'm reffering to the mini meta found at http://www.fixup.net/products/pktamp/sminiv3a.htm.

Is it OK to connect this amp to the headphone jack of my portable? and whats the difference really between the line out jack and the headphone jack of fortable devices, and in general?

The point of the line out w/ outboard amp is to bypass the cheap built in headamp of the portable player. You are feeding the signal from the player directly to your amp.

If you are running the amp straight from the headphone out, then you're just increasing the volume of the unit, not the quality of the sound.
