I am not sure whether this has been posted already but Sound-On-Sound compared the Apogee Mini-DAC, Benchmark DAC1, and the Lavry DA10.

If you are trying to decide between these DACS and can't get the units to test in your system it might be worthwhile spending the $1.45 to download the article. You local library or magazine shop might have it as well.

I have nothing to do with Sound-On-Sound, just found the article, and thought people might care.

Consumer Reports also costs money and people seem to be willing to pay. No need to spend the money if you think this is sufficiently covered elsewhere.
