I should be getting an Imod any day now and want to use it in my car connected to the auxillary input of my head unit. I know cable quality matters from my experience, but I am wondering if it would matter in my car. The speakers aren't that great, although head unit is new. I plan to get a good cable when I get a portable amp and good IEMs. I could get such cable now, but they are pricey and often are pretty short (unless I want to spend even more).

I am wondering if I could easily get by with a lesser cable in my car. Anyway, what cable do any of you use with the Imod in your car?

I use my DAP in my truck and use the headphone out into an Eclipse HU. I use a cheap Belkin 6' cable. IMO, any cheap cable will do the job and since you're in a noisy environment, even if a $50 cable did sound better with IEMs I'd bet it won't in this situation. And like you state, you'd have to buy probably a 24" cable which would cost a lot.
