5 years after the release of Mini Audio DX100 / Hibino HDP-R10 (World first DAP using ESS9018 DAC), Mini Audio finally releases the successor of DX100/ HDP-R10, named MA01.

My friend in China have tried the pre-production model and said the player will be released within these few months. (Probably in July16)

Something doesn't add-up about this. iBasso told us, weeks ago, that the MA01 was nothing to do with them.

Now we see the MiniAudio MA01 looking extremely like this Oriolus DAP:

It really makes me wonder who is actually making this DAP.

  Noticed this too.

But reading Paul's post again, he actually didn't refer to the MA01 at all but to the Mini Audio trademark.

Mmmm.. good catch...

...but still...   the whole situation does seem rather obtuse and ambiguous

The DX100 was produced by iBasso Audio. The DX100 was also produced under the name Mini Audio for the Chinese market and the R10 (with a few changes) for the Japanese market. We no longer use or own the Mini Audio name and have no connection to anything currently produced by any company using the name Mini Audio.

Thankyou for the clarification, Paul - it is much-appreciated.

Would you please clarify if the same is true, or not, in relation to the Oriolus-branded DAP, in the above Erji.net picture?

Cheers.

What we make will have our name on it and not the name of another company. I don't know anything about their dap but it is not ours.

Regardless of disagreement about which company manufactured it, and purely out of curiosity, did any English-speaking head-fiers try this DAP?
