"Mingo" is what I called my grandmother growing up. It was short for flamingo, somehow I don't think the brand source here is the same.

To contribute though: I think these have surfaced periodically, but the amount of information isn't really all that comprehensive.

Well actually their produced by a Hong Kong company called Mingo HMW. I used to go there when I visited Hong Kong. Their stores are like heaven with walls of headphones for you to try out

nsx_23, what are your thoughts? shigzeo thought these were too bassy and there was little difference between the gold and silver. I think the silver has settled down and has sweet mids, just right treble, and the bass is powerful, but not overpowering (95% of the time). The gold on the other hand is more mid and bass forward with too much bass for me in certain genres.

I am using dual flange tips.

I too have the silver. Demo-ed the gold as well but didn't like the overall balance.

Initially I thought the bass was quite overwhelming, but have gotten used to it now and don't find it overpowering. I use Comply T400 tips.

I should have been more succinct. There is difference, but it isn't like a totally different headphone.

I do think the presentations are a good deal different, but the frequency response seems to be the same.
