I've been using my UM3X for about a year with my ipod classic. Pretty happy with it, especially when i can get a good seal on the phones, although it's seemed a little lifeless recently.

But I listened to my LDIII/SennHD580 desktop setup for the first time in ages over the weekend, and remembered what a reasonably amped setup can sound like. Does anyone have any suggestions for a mid-range amp that might help my portable setup for up to $200? And will it really make a difference?

Cheers - Kent

Just a bump to see if any feedback. I've been thinking iBasso T3D, LDMk1+ has been suggested too. Or waiting for FiiO E11. ANd will it make a noticable difference to my current setup given the relatively easy to drive IEM?

Thanks for the responses everyone - I jumped in and bought an iBasso D2+ off another headfier for a good price. Was listening to a track yesterday that I know really well and heard stuff I've never heard before. The UM3X separation is really helped by the amp....
