The wires on my brainwavz b2's are going bad, and although i loved their clarity, their tonality was just too cold for me. Some headphones (and 1 iem) i was looking into were the Audio Technica esw-9a, es700, the Yamaha Eph-100s, v-moda m-80's. Which one will do female vocals good, and have good timbre for instruments? Other recommendations would be appreciated as well. I'll be driving it from either an ipod video or an ipod touch, no amp. Thanks!

For headphones, go with JVC HA-S680:

They can be had for 65$-75$ directly from Kakaku:

For IEM, go with Final Audio Design Heaven IV.
The blue and white versions can be had for 125$-135$ from Kakaku, the black one is a lot more expensive:

Both fit your requirements, but Heaven IV also has that FAD magic that you won't find anywhere else.
