Hmm... checking up Westone's site, they state that the warranty on the UM2 is only NINETY DAYS! Is this a recent change to the warranty period, or has it always been so?

Anyone else have any experience dealing with them regarding warranty and replacement issues outside of that 90 days?

I too am trying to choose between the E5 and the UM2 and this would be one of the factors weighing in against the UM2 when compared to the Shure 2 year warranty...

Thanks guys!

Westone changed their warranty to one year for all universal monitors (here is one post regarding it http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showp...84&postcount=2). You could email them to confirm that, though. Also, they supposedly have fantastic customer service, repairing things well out of their warranty. That is just what I've heard from other people on here, though, I've never had to deal with them regarding that.

I've only heard good things about both westone's and shure's customer service, so I would feel confident buying either of their products. Westone has always responded promptly when I have emailed them.
