I know this is not high end audio system but I am in need of a basic shelf system that sounds better than the units you get at Best Buy for $200. I know about the Denon DM38 as one of the best sounding system at that price range. But I am also looking at the Pioneer X-HM20V-K (http://www.pioneerelectronics.ca/POCEN/Home/Music+Systems/Micro+Systems/X-HM20V-K).
I searched the web for reviews and it seems that there are none that I can find. It must not be a very popluar system because I can find many reviews on the DM38. The DM38 sells for $399 in Canada and this Pioneer is on sale for $299. Now I don't expect mind-blowing sound from these $300 to $400 units but I need above average CD sounds and headphone out for my Grado 225i.
Anyone has any comments on this Pioneer unit?
