hi,

I am looking for DAC to use with my laptop/sony d303-->T-amp/stefan audio art cable/
k1000 combo,
with sony pcdp d180k-->t-amp-->k1000,it's too neutral for my taste, midrange
sound more acurate but somehow boring to my ear, with d-303,I like it
better since D303 has some kind of midrange coloration that is very pleasing to my ear
.now I want to get a DAC that could "sweeten up" the midrange even more and has stronger
bass to compensate the bass defeciency problem of k1000.Basically,I am trying to
get k1000 to sound as close as possible to grado midrange, which one do you think will
suit my need better?I've read that micro dac is sweet sounding and will enchance the bass,
but
what about apogee mini dac?or what other DAC do you recommend?

the dac has to be portable and has usb option though.

don't tell me to just get grado though,i thought it could be fun to tweak k1000 sound with
various cable/source/dac combination.

Asking for recommendations because your current setup isn't giving you what you want, then refusing to be open to switching headphones is a bit unfair.

If you won't take the DAC to everywhere I will more perfer Apogee mini dac. It is designed for studio ~ a monitor DAC.
