My amp is coming to me right now, so I haven't tried any of this, but my experience with the JAN Phillips substituted for 12AX7's in guitar stuff has been a total pleasure. They are great, musical and balanced sounding tubes, and the gain is not that much less. Has anyone tried that type of tube in the Head? They sound to me like they would be great for hifi. Plus, they're cheap and plentiful.
