I am contimpating getting an inexpensive tube amp. I am hearing great things about the X-Cans. They sound like what I might want. Anyway, my question is - Is the V3 worth the extra price over the V2? It looks like roughly $200 vs. $300. Or should I use the extra hundred to modify the V2?

Any thoughts?

I have the modified (a la PinkFloyd) X-Can V3 and it makes the Senn HD600 sing. Either one of the amps would be fine and if modified would give you years of enjoyment.

By the way for the Grado's I prefer the Mapletree.
