Looks like they'll lose to the Marlins . 7 game lead for the NL EAST is now down to 1. Absolutely brutal. Getting swept by the Nationals is just plain embarrassing. What's going on METS????

Yeah they were bad then looked good only to have it turn into a close race.

My daughter and I feel as if we have had all of the life sucked out of us.

All of this, from a bunch of highly paid guys running around in pajamas, swinging wooden sticks.

All of those beautiful summer days spent indoors to watch the games, all to boil down to this.

What happened?

Sorry but typical Mets. They've done this before. They have had other opportunities to make the playoffs and choked on the final day. I cant comment anymore as I will get banned for crashing the server with the amount of curses I will type. (My wife and I just got back from Shea after not being able to get tickets for todays game, perhaps for the better.)

as a lifelong Braves fan, i know how you guys feel.

then again, as a lifelong Braves fan, it's the best consolation prize i could have wished for.
