Good to know, although I still wonder whether Metrum Acoustics take any official position about it.

Thanks for both encouraging answers. I have started leaving my Hex turned on. I've also sent an inquiry to Metrum Acoustics about this same issue, and I shall let you know what they say. Thanks again.
Thanks. Id be interested to hear what they say

When ive emailed metrum a few times they've been very good replyng in a timely manner

You're right: Their response has been short, sweet, and timely:

Any current owners of the HeX DAC have any comparisons to the other popular R2R NOS dacs out there like Holo or the current gen Metrum Dacs? I’m thinking about getting one to try.

I just picked up one. Wow, this old Hex sounds so good against Yggy OG and Amber 3. The only downside is that 24/192 is not supported on optical input, and sometimes even gave me problem on SPDIF.
For a used unit price nowadays, it will be really hard to beat.
