My band does alot of backing track stuff through my laptop using acid pro 7.0. I need the drummer to listen to a metronome through a pair of headphones where the metronome will come out my laptop. I have been told an external sound card will be the job to let the metronome go into the headphones while the backing tracks play through the P.A normally.

Any advice? Would it work? And where can I get the cheapest of what I need? UK

Does the metronome have to come out of the computer? If not just grab a metronome at your local music store that has a headphone jack and you are all set. Shouldn't be more than 20-30 pounds.

Or are you applying a drum layer to an already existing piece? If so I don't know how to do that, sorry
