Metric threads

The book "Machinery Handbook" usually has all sorts of usefull thread information. It also depends on whether or not it is an internal or external thread. Class of fitment (loose, normal, or interference) also can affect the measurement.

Anyway, a good bookstore or your library should have a copy. Don't worry about what year it was printed. Very little in that field has changed in the last few decades.

I used to make thread mills many years ago for Advent Tool in Lake Bluff, Il.. The owner, Jim Hartford, knows all about that stuff. I tossed my notes on the subject a while back.

The geometry for threaded fasteners can get sort of complex.

rohorn, Thanks for the reply.

I always try to say things as shortly as possible therefore alot gets left out. I work in a machine shop and have looked for this info in the Machineries Handbook 19th ed. (kinda old). I've looked in our incomplete ANSI B1.1 spec. I did a google search too. But I haven't found any info on these metric threads.
Finding this kind of technical information on the internet is very difficult for me.
