I am very happy with my new JB2 and although it adequately drives my HD600's, when I really want to hear better fidelity I connect my Meta (single 9V, 8620 op amp) and it really opens up the 600's
My question is given that the JB2 does not have a line out, I am using the headphone output to connect my Meta. Is it correct to assume that I will get the best fidelity when I set the volume level of the JB2 at the highest setting when using the amp?
Also what might be a good choice as step up from the Meta-42 for the 600's if I wanted to spend $200-250? I was thinking about going the tube route and considering a used MG-Head OTL II. What would be a good choice in this price range to drive the 600's? Also I would be using it with better sources than the JB2.
Are there other sources in the US for the MG-Head amps other than Antique Sound Labs? I cant seem to fing their website anymore?
