Howdy All -

Two questions for you...

1. I have a set of red MrSpeakers Alpha Primes for sale. In perfect condition. Anyone interested?
2. Any one else in the Midwest dealing with ants in the winter? Every single day I see an ant crawling across the screen of my laptop. It is driving me nuts.

You might wanna edit that before the moderators see that. Sales ads go into the trading forums.

You have microscopic Cheetos dust or similarly small food particles around your computer. Clean it up really well and don't eat there anymore.

And the Mods allowed me to sell (Post to the Trading forum) in 2016 but now I see -
(You have insufficient privileges to post here.) So what are the hurdles I need to jump through?

If they're the small ants, they feed on sugar. Look up how to make a syrup with borax and sugar and leave it out for the ants to eat. They will take it back to the colony and the borax will eliminate your problem in about a week.

They are small ants, and I will give this a try. I've cleaned my laptop with various solutions, used air cans to blow out any small particles, as well as used rubbing alcohol on the power cord and bleached the basement floor. I have sprayed various inspect killing solutions, but I have never used bait to draw more ants out.

What I do know, is if anteaters were common household pets I would have two.

The bait is really the only effective way to keep the ants from coming back. They will always send out workers to areas where they've found food because the foragers leave pheromone trails. You might freak out at first, seeing so many ants taking the bait, but if you set it up right it won't be long before they stop returning.

Sometime in late 2016, early 2017 the board rules required a few weeks membership and 15 or 25 posts. You need to up your post count.

Microscopic Cheetos dust - I'd much rather prefer this truth than to believe the ants are following me about for my musical tastes.

Ants actually don't have ears and they at best feel vibrations through their feet, so at best you'd have to have subwoofers pounding away bass that would invite the ants addicted to Cosmopolitans and ecstasy to a thumpin' rave party.
