i think you will like the sha-1 for the akg k-340. it has heaps of power & will even push the k-1000 very well. i like it as all around amp for all of my headphones.
i think bozebuttons once told me the sha gold was better suited to low impedance cans. he can verify that.
i am awaiting a replacement transformer. i have used the melos sha-1 exclusively as my bedside rig for a couple or three years with all of my headphones due to its versatility -- low impedance, high impedance. no other problems other than the transformer. highly recommended amp even in it's stock configuration.
