I've got one coming fedex tomorrow, and I've never used a tube amp before.

do I warm this sucker up first? any special precautions I should know about?

One of the great features of the Melos Sha-1 is that when you turn it on; the led will be red and when it is warmed up, it will turn green.

It usually took less than a minute when I owned one. I would love to own another one in the future.

X2,

I've settled on this amp for all my headphones including my K-1000. It is truly amazing and has a very nice preamp to boot

btw, if the tubes are brand new - leave the unit on and let them burn in. There sound will improve over time.

your precaution would be dont put your headphone on or you wont be able to put it down anymore.

love it.

How are you guys acquiring your Melos? I keep searching. Are they still being produced?

I have a related question--do you need to keep your phones plugged in for some period of time after shutting tube amps off, or do anything special before plugging phones in? I don't mean to hijack the thread, but it seems along the lines of what was asked. Thanks.
