I haven't gotten around to experimenting with cables. I've just stuck with the included Liquid Links one and also a 3.5mm Liquid Links cable.
I definitely noticed an improvement moving to R2R though.
I've been using the Soekris dac2541 as my main DAC and headphone amp unit and the improvement has been noticeable over my Schiit Heretic. The later I purchased solely because of it's compatibility with IEMs. Turns out, the Soekris makes for an excellent IEM amp with no background hiss with the Eclipse. This biggest improvement has been the perceved soundstage and instrument separation.
As an aside, if you're interesting in trying our R2R, I highly recommend the Soekris dac2541. For the price you get a solid unit that has remote support, perfect volume control, balanced HP outputs, that sounds great and has been proven to be well engineered by the folks at SBAF.
