Well I bought my first IEMs in a few years since my Super-Fis broke.

I decided to try these and am wondering a few things off the bat:

- are they a tad sibilant?  The highs are a bit harsh.
- do they benefit from some burn?
- the mid range seems to be pretty shallow
- are they hard to drive?

Too many questions I know but I'm using them with my Galaxy Note 2 which has never had a problem driving anything (it will drive my ATH-AD900Xs fine).  I'm not sure what to expect here, they sound pretty good but the sound stage is fairly shallow.  I can't seem to get any kind of fullness without going to full volume.  Maybe I'mm just spoiled?  I'd be willing to spend more but what?

yes they can be sometimes (depends on player and recording)

none that i noticed

it is slightly dipped in the middle

no, you may just find the sound is not to your liking. also you have been used to the sound of the super fi for a couple years.

Sony MDR EX650 is a much better iem for the price. i have seen them as low as £40! considering they are one of the best under £100

EX650 has a bigger soundstage, good bass and impact, detail, clarity. They are awesome.

the downside being they are what id call a very energetic earphone so it may cause fatigue.
