When I first became a mixer for my band, I got the Sonys based on the positive reviews. I returned them the day after I bought them... too bright and very sibilant. The 240s on the other hand have a slightly rolled off high end, so it's not as detailed, but across the sound spectrum it is very easy to understand, if you can overlook the relatively strong bass. Overall 240s are better for a neutral sound IMO and there's very little to learn about them. I've mixed on them a few times before referring to my monitors and they translated pretty well.

The K240S is not the most neutral headphone in my experience, you might be better to look at the K271S. I love the K240S for what it is, but the K271S offers more detail and a more balanced frequency response.

Agreed. Own 240s, the bass is the big issue. Far more neutral, but man, that bass can get overpowering sometimes.

I don't really pay attention to graphs, so I can't explain it to you that way, but it does sound more neutral to me.
