does anyone out there know enough japanese to translate what the amazon japan page has to say about availability & shipping stateside for the mdr-r10 at the following link?

The page says that they can't ship it out of Japan. Also, there is no option to order a new pair on the page either. Just a button to buy it used/new/mint from a third party.

the last batch of the MDR-R10 shipped out a while ago and is all accounted for as far as I know. I believe quite a few head-fiers got a pair through that batch? they are not making them anymore.... (at least when I went to the sony building back in may they said that it was not being produced for now but they never said that it will never be produced again... though I highly doubt that they will resume production at a later date.)

so your only option for now is to get one used... or try to find a dealer that has a new pair.

R10 is replaced by the new Qualia headphone.
that's why it isn't produced anymore.
according to the first impressions, it is better then the r10!

the person that actually owns a Qualia doesn't think so, after a good period of testing. Someone is making a special deddicated amp for the Qualia to make it shine.

you can't get the r10 anymore. so, according to sony this is the replacement.
