not sure if this should be diy, or here...

has anyone ever taken apart an mdr-f1? or does anyone have a service manual/parts diagram? i am considering buying replacement pads, but need to know what is involved in switching them out.

okay as i have obtained this knowledge, i feel i should pass it on. the pads just clip on and off, just pull at the plastic ring and they should pop off relatively easy (they are glued but it should give). in order to get to the drivers, the outer metal screen grills rotate counter counter clockwise and then pull off bayonet style. i scarfed mine up because of the amount of force that i had to put into rotating (not to mention wear and tear on the fingers), but when i finally got them apart i could tell they were glued at all three bayonet locking points (some are only glued at one), so if you take a small screwdriver and insert at all points around the outer mesh ring, the glue should loosen up because there is some give to the metal. then the rings just rotate counter clockwise very easily.

thanks to scootermafia for the insight (and parts hah)
